Wuhan Huaxia Institute of Technology (HXIT) is located in the core area of "Wuhan·China Optics Valley", the China’s most valuable High-Tech development zone, Wuhan city, Hubei province. Disciplines and Majors

As HXIT is located in the Wuhan metropolitan area, serving the regional economy is its essential task. It offers 42 undergraduate majors, covering seven disciplines including engineering, economics, management, literature, art, education, and medicine, involving industries such as automobiles, architecture, information technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, finance, media, and sports. There are many strong disciplines among them.

Faculty

HXIT has a strong faculty with over 660 full-time teachers, of which about 45% are professors and associate professors, 55% are "Double-qualified" Teachers (both teaching and practical abilities). HXIT has introduced well-known experts, scholars, senior professionals, and business mentors from home and abroad, providing lectures, exchanges programs to expand students' horizons. In 2021, HXIT was approved one "Hubei Famous Teacher Studio," which is the only one among similar universities in the province.

Talent Cultivation Mode

HXIT implements a "six-module" talent cultivating system. They are general education, professional education, practical teaching, innovation and entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and comprehensive education modules. The concept of general education is integrated into the entire process of student training.

HXIT engages in cooperation and exchange programs with universities abroad, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Singapore, etc. Scholars around the world were invited to teach or give lectures to our students. HXIT has also established joint graduate programs with other universities at home, such as Wuhan University of Technology and Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc. Meanwhile, It has selected excellent teachers and outstanding students to go abroad for exchange programs.

Practice Education

HXIT emphasizes the strengthening of the conditions for practical teaching, and sufficient funds are invested every year to form practice platform". There are totally 111 labs including public basic labs, basic specialized labs and specialized courses labs. HXIT has cooperated with more than 200 well-known enterprises including China Metallurgical Southern, PICC company to establish internship training and employment bases.

HXIT continues to promote the integration of industry and education, as well as school enterprise cooperation. Based on this, some industrial colleges like ISoftstone Big Data College and the FuRui International E-commerce College has been founded in our institute.

Achievements

HXIT attaches great importance to cultivate students' innovative and entrepreneurial abilities. Students have won numerous awards, including the provincial-level gold award in the 7th China International "Internet+" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the outstanding award in the 13th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition in Hubei Province, the national first prize in the 9th National College Students' Mechanical Innovation and Design Competition, the silver award in the 2021 China College Students' Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition, , the national outstanding award in the 8th China Education Robot Competition, the national second prize in the 16th National College Students' Intelligent Vehicle Competition, the first prize in the 13th National College Students' Advertising Art Competition in Hubei Province, the national first prize in the 10th National College Students' Metallographic Skill Competition, the first prize in the 14th China College Students' Computer Design Competition, and the first prize in the 2021 Milan Design Week - China's Excellent Works Exhibition of Design Disciplines.

In the past five years, students have won more than 1,500 provincial-level or above competition awards, with 4,200 individuals, and have obtained 182 national patents. The College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program has been approved by the Ministry of Education for 44 projects, and 133 projects have been approved at the provincial level. HXIT has established one provincial-level college student entrepreneurship base, nine college student innovation and entrepreneurship bases, and has been awarded the honorary title of "Wuhan College Students' Entrepreneurship College" by the Wuhan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

HXIT has emerged outstanding students such as Liu Pulin, who is a "Hubei Province Moral Model," the "National Excellent Village Official" Xu Qi, the Hubei Province "Brave College Students" Zhou Linfeng, Yang Chengjia who won the gold medal from the Central Publicity Department , "Campus Inventor" Liu Fei, "Design Star" Sheng Haibo, and many other students with significant social influence.

Campus Life

HXIT’s has established the first private college rowing team in China and sports dance team won national competition championships. It hosts lots of activities such as the "Science and Technology Culture Festival," "Foreign Culture Festival," "Sports Culture Festival" as well as theme parties such as "On the Wings of Song" and the New Year's Day park carnival, which are highly welcomed by students. The students enjoy to be volunteers in the city major events such as the 7th World Military Games, Wuhan Tennis Open, and Wuhan Marathon, etc.

Employment

In recent years, HXIT enjoys to see the employment rate remained stable at around 95%, ranking at the forefront of similar colleges in the province. HXIT has been recognized as " an Exempted institute for provincial-level employment statistics verification" for several consecutive years, and its graduates have been received high praise from employers and all sectors of society.
