Following the earthquake disasters in Jishishan County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, and Atushi City, Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, HIXT promptly launched assistance efforts for students from families impacted by the earthquakes.
Each school of HXIT was instructed to take immediate action to swiftly assess the situations of students from affected families. The Financial Aid Management Center urgently activated the assistance procedures and established a special channel for hardship allowances related to earthquake disasters. Counselors, mentors, and class teachers from each school collaborated to conduct assessments of students from affected families. They maintained communication between home and school through conversations, offering emotional support, and helping students cope with their emotions.
Up to now, HXIT has provided compassionate assistance to two students whose families were affected by the earthquake. The special allowances were distributed to the students on December 21.
HXIT pledges to continue monitoring the psychological, living, and academic conditions of the affected students. Personalized assistance plans will be formulated, including providing travel allowances for the journey home during the winter vacation, to help students overcome the challenges they face collectively and individually.
