It is widely acknowledged that the Internet has become the most important and essential tool in people’s daily life. Besides, it brings us so many ways of entertainment that people become more and more interested in it.

However, despite the convenience of the Internet, a great number of young people begin to spend too much time on the Internet and tend to be addicted to the virtual life. Special attention should be paid to the phenomenon that the widespread of internet brings a lot of negative influences, especially to the youngsters. Some people prefer to stay in front of the computer all day long, and spend little time with family members and friends. The phenomenon is especially shown at the net bars. Firstly, teenagers make up a large portion of the customers at local net bars, where they spend much of their time playing computer games, thus neglect their study. Secondly, some bars offer unhealthy programs that involve violence and sex, and then crimes are committed by some minors.

As far as I’m concerned, our college students should be fully aware of the importance of sensible attitude towards the Internet. Therefore, we should discipline ourselves and make proper use of the Internet. In addition, we should also advocate to the public to notice the negative impact of addiction to the virtual world.
