School of Marxism is a teaching institution for college students to carry out Marxist Theoretical Education and Ideological and Political Education. Members of School of Marxism, we must publicize Marxism. Let me introduce Marx and Engels, the founders of Marxist theory first.
Karl Marx, the German, is the founder of Marxism, the organizer and leader of the First International, the great mentor of the proletariat and the working people of the world. Friedrich Engels, a German socialist theorist and writer, is one of the founders of Marxism, a close comrade of Marx, the leader of the international proletarian movement. The Marxist doctrine founded by Marx and Engels is composed of three parts: Marxist philosophy, Marxist political economy and scientific socialism. Marx and Engels critically inherit and absorb human beings on natural science, thinking science, and social science. Based on outstanding achievements, the scientific system of proletarian thoughts was founded in the 1940s and constantly enriched, developed and perfected in practice. Marxism is a theory about the complete liberation of the proletariat and the working people all over the world, and a worldview and methodology of the proletarian science. It is a theoretical ideological weapon and guide to action that guides the proletariat and working people around the world in their struggle to achieve socialism and communism.
The Communist Party of China is the product of the combination of Marxism and the Chinese workers' movement. From the day of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Marxism was the guiding ideology of the party. Therefore, it can be said that Marxism is a powerful ideological weapon for the Chinese Communist Party to "start" and develop. In this sense, there is no Chinese Communist Party without Marxism. There will be no new China without the Chinese Communist Party. Without the new China, there will be no good life for the Chinese people today. This is the truth that has been tested and the objective reality confirmed by historical development. Today, in the great journey of achieving the goal of "two hundred years", although we still encounter many challenges and difficulties, we have firm ideals and beliefs. We always adhere to the guidance of Marxism, and adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and adhere to the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We will certainly be able to build a well-off society in an all-round way and will surely realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We will certainly be able to build a strong, democratic, civilized and harmonious socialist country.
The Chinese Communist Party has always been committed to the Chinization of Marxism, and has always closely integrated the basic principles of Marxism with the reality of Chinese revolution, construction, and reform. In practice, it has formed correct principles and experience summaries, and constantly injects new ideas into Marxist theory. The content has produced two theoretical results of Mao Zedong Thought and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist
Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has put forward a "four comprehensive" strategic plan to guide the new great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. From the height of the times and the overall situation, General Secretary Xi Jinping has issued a series of important speeches on reform, development and stability, internal affairs, foreign affairs and national defense, and ruling the party and ruling the country. He has opened up a new realm of Marxist development and is the latest achievement of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is the most lively Marxism that guides the great struggle with many new historical features.
The foundation of universities is to cultivate people by virtue and teach and educate people. In order to build and develop our country well, we need not only Marxist theory and the Communist Party as our guidance, but also a large number of modern construction talents with both ability and virtue. Colleges and universities are the places to train builders and reliable successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The Party Central Committee has always attached great importance to the ideological and political theory courses and ideological and political work in Colleges and universities. The ideological and political theory courses in Colleges and universities are the main channels to disseminate, publicize and carry out Marxist education. As teachers of Ideological and political theory courses, the following tasks must be done well:
First, we should publicize the theoretical system of Marxism and socialism with Chinese characteristics to the students in a reasonable and vigorous manner, so that they can truly believe, learn, understand and use it.
Secondly, we should educate young students on socialist core values with great vigor, so that they can establish correct world outlook, outlook on life and values.
Thirdly, we should concentrate on learning and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important speeches, and guide students to correctly understand our Party and national conditions.
Fourthly, we should firmly establish the dominant position of Marxism in our ideology, and relentlessly resist all anti-Marxist statements and actions.
Fifthly, we should closely integrate the Party's and state policies, the new characteristics of the times and the ideological reality of contemporary college students, and constantly use lively ways to "reform teaching methods, enhance teaching ability and enhance teaching effect".
In short, the ideological and political theory teachers are the mainstay of learning, propagating and inculcating Marxism and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We should firmly occupy the three-foot platform as the main position and channel, let Marxism spread out from our voice, and make Marxism penetrate into the ears, minds and hearts of College students, which let them become the intellectuals and strong warriors to defend Marxism, and let our Party and socialist country never change color!

School of Marxist was founded in May 2016, on the basis of the original Ideological and Political Theory Course. It was also the first Marxist College established in private undergraduate colleges in Hubei Province.
The University attaches great importance to the construction and teaching of ideological and political theory courses, and has set up the leading group for ideological and political education in the early days of the university, which is directed by the university leaders and involves major departments to participate, such as Office of General Affair, Office of Party Committee, Office of Academic Affair, Office of Students’ affair, Office of Political Theory Teaching & Research, etc. There are 100 faculty members in the college. Among them, there are 98 full-time and part-time teachers, 6 professors, 10 associate professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, 4 master supervisors, 1 with doctoral degree, 2 with on-the-job doctoral degrees, and 1 with domestic visiting scholar experience.
School of Marxist has five teaching and research departments: Introduction of the Basic Principles of Marxism, Introduction of Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism Theories with Chinese Characteristics, and Thought morals Accomplishment and Basic Law, and Outline of Modern Chinese History and Situation and Policy. At the same time, we are responsible for the teaching and curriculum construction of the five courses for Comprehensive Quality Education, including Employment Guidance, Business Foundation, College Students' Mental Health, College Students' Career Planning, Military Theory, and the teaching management of public elective courses.
School of Marxist attaches great importance to the teaching reform of Ideological and political theory. The following three excellent courses have been constructed: Introduction of Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism Theories with Chinese Characteristics, Introduction of the Basic Principles of Marxism, and Thought morals Accomplishment and Basic Law. “Thought morals Accomplishment and Basic Law "won the third provincial prize. The College has carried out the Teaching Team Building of introduction of Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism Theories with Chinese Characteristics. It has also carried out the reform of examination methods in the course of Thought morals Accomplishment and Basic Law and the teaching capacity building and teaching methods research of ideological and political teachers in independent colleges.
Our School attaches great importance to the practical teaching of ideological and political theory both inside and outside the school. It revises and compiles the Report on College Students' Social Practice, which has strong operability and features and can reflect the results of practical teaching. We have established many Marxist social practice bases in cooperation with other institute; we also organize student representatives to visit and study at many red memorials in Wuhan every year; and hold a speech preliminary and final contest for students on " Experience of moral cultivation and writing of brilliant life " every year to give material and spiritual awards to the winners. All these have aroused the enthusiasm of students in learning ideological and political theory courses.
School of Marxist attaches great importance to teachers' scientific research work. In recent years, School has achieved a number of research results in the fields of Marxist theory, ideological and political education, the history of the CPC, modern and contemporary history of China and so on. We presided over and participated in one National Social Science Fund Research Project and 28 provincial and ministerial research and teaching research projects, as well as 20 municipal and school research and teaching research projects. We have published 8 books and textbooks, 2 student-assisted books, 114 papers in academic journals at or above the provincial level, of which 26 were published in core journals. And a number of scientific research achievements were awarded (December 2018).
