The experimental center of Automobile Engineering School is the main practice and training base for the Automobile major students. With an area of more than 2,000 square meters, 366 sets of experimental equipment and a fixed asset of 6 million RMB, the center has a relatively complete automobile maintenance & beauty training base and 12 professional labs for auto structure，auto disassembly，auto inspection，auto electronic technology and auto simulation, etc. Now the center has 8 full-time experimental teachers. The ratio of experiment executed and planned is 100%, according to the requirements of talent cultivation plans.
The center has undertaken the experimental courses such as Automobile Structure, Automobile Testing Technology, Engine Principle, Automobile Diagnosis and Detection and Automobile Theory, etc. At the same time, it provides support for teachers’ scientific research. The center is open to groups and companies in demand in and out of school, the long-term partners including Further-educational School of Wuhan Institute of Technology, Driving School of Automobile Technology University and so on.
Relying on the experimental center, teachers and students in Automobile Engineering School have taken part and made remarkable achievements in a number of national and provincial academic competitions, such as “National Mechanical Innovation and Design Competition”, “The Challenge Cup”, “The 3D Digital Innovation and Design Competition”, “DongFeng Honda Energy-Saving Competition” etc.
Taking school experimental teaching demonstration center as a leader and focusing on the construction of academy-sharing platform, the center has established an experimental teaching system that covers professional basic experiment, professional experiment and comprehensive innovative experiment. It takes full advantage of high-quality social resources, constructs diversified training bases and vigorously promotes internship, as well as on-the-job training to reduce the employment gap and increase employment opportunities.
