Talent Gathering in Jingchu, Bold to Work

In order to conscientiously implement the requirements of the "Wisdom Hubei" project, help college students get in touch with the job market in advance, master job interview skills and enhance their employ ability, on the evening of September 29, the seventh "Bold to Work" Hubei College Student Mock Job Search Competition -- the final round of WHIT was held in the lecture hall of 2-201. The 12 contestants recommended by various schools competed on the spot, exchanging and discussing job-seeking skills and talking about career dreams, fully showing the vigorous spirit of contemporary college students and the good image of newcomers in the workplace.

 

The competition has invited many leaders from inside and outside the university and large enterprises as expert judges and guests, and was organized by the University's Career Guidance and Service Centre and hosted by the Huaxia Yangfan Studio and the School of Civil Engineering. Since its launch on 12 September, twelve finalists were identified through the pre-final selection of each college and the review of the competition leadership team. Before the final round, Wang Shajia and Liu Jiping from the Career Guidance and Service Centre conducted training on CV creation, interview skills and leaderless groups for the contestants respectively.

With the theme of "Talent Gathering in Jingchu, Bold to Work", the contestants were comprehensively evaluated in four sessions, namely "Give You a Minute", "Four Sides of the Song of Chu", "Sheng, dan, net, end, clown" and "The Guest of Honour", so as to guide fresh graduates to master their job hunting skills.

After the fierce competition, No.5 contestant Jiao Yina won the first prize in the competition; No.6 contestant Anyang and No.12 contestant Guo Xirui won the second prize; No.4 contestant Xu Yijing, No.10 contestant Ji Huanxin and No.11 contestant Wang Jing won the third prize; No.1 contestant Nie Wenhao, No.2 contestant Chen Yiyang, No.3 contestant Zhou Rui, No.7 contestant Fu Xuedian, No.8 contestant Shen Yixuan and No.9 contestant Li Xue won the excellent prize.

After the competition, No. 11 contestant Wang Jing shared, "This event gave me an opportunity and platform to fully showcase myself, and I was able to learn about my shortcomings and visible growth, which added a lot of experience to my career path."

The competition put the concept of "people-oriented" education into practice in career guidance work, understanding students' thoughts, hoping for students' expectations and solving students' problems, and encouraging students to combine professional theory and employment practice in real situations. The novel format of the competition not only benefited the participants, but also the students who watched the event, who learned about the policy, gained skills, further enhanced their awareness of career planning and improved their employ ability.
