On Arbor Day, March 12, HXIT launched a series of special tree planting activities where teachers and students experienced the joy and value of labor.
At noon, School of Civil Engineering held the theme of “ Green Homes, Build Together" tree planting campaign. All the saplings were donated by Liu Xing, an alumnus of the School of Civil Engineering. On the site in the northeast corner of HXIT's experimental building, freshmen, alumni and faculty planted the trees. The students and teachers named the nursery " Wenqu Forest", which means " stay true to self " from the "Four Sentences of Hengqu".
On the day of the event, in the flower garden next to the faculty building, the network and new media students of HXIT's School of Art, Design and Communication, in collaboration with the Young Volunteers Association of the School of Foreign Languages, conducted a Chinese rose planting activity. Teachers and students worked together to turn up the land and plant the rose saplings. Thanks to the enthusiastic work of the students, the vacant lot was soon filled with rose saplings, whose tender green leaves waved in the spring breeze.
Fan Ceji, the director of the Student Management Office from School of Civil Engineering, said that the series of labor education activities launched on the occasion of Arbor Day carried the function of "teaching without words". We want them to grow up together with the saplings they plant, and to make every tree and bush in HXIT a link.
