Service all about details. On March 13, the first volunteer training of the Wuhan Marathon(Hanma) was held at HXIT. As one of the most important warm-up activities before the 2023 Hanma Race, this training session made the 288 college student volunteers on site gain a lot, and also saw the high standards and difficulties of volunteer work.

Smiling, dressing, proficiency, consistent follow-through – these are the "unique qualities" that Hanma volunteers need to have. Wang Zitong, head of Wuhan Marathon volunteers, said that 26,000 runners will participate in the 2023 Wuhan Marathon, and the volunteers participating in this training need to be on standby at the 20-kilometer station, mainly serving more than 18,000 athletes who will pass the station, which will be a challenge for every volunteer.
The keynote speaker described the work content of different volunteer positions in detail, like how to take care of the needs of special invited athletes and how to deal with the provision of emergency assistance to athletes. While clearly understanding their responsibilities, volunteers have a deeper understanding and thinking about marathons. "It is our nature to never hesitate to give kindness and encouragement to others", and the training session also specially inspired volunteers to serve well with affection and strength.

After the training, the volunteers said that Hanma is not only a grand event for athletes, but also a rare opportunity for every volunteer to find self-exercise and give back to the society. "I wanted to participate in Hanma for a long time, and I used to volunteer a lot, but this time I can experience the charm of Hanma and hope to learn more." Liao Mengyuan, a volunteer from HXIT, said.
