On June 3, 2023, Qu Fengling, class 1201 of School of Biology and Pharmaceutical Engineering of HXIT won the first and second prizes respectively in the final of biochemistry. Zhao Yufeng, Class 1201 of Medical Laboratory and Deng Ting, Class 1202 of Medical Laboratory won the second and third prizes respectively in the final of molecular biology.

This year, the biochemistry group gave "isolation, purification and content determination of ovalbumin in eggs", and the Molecular Biology group gave " amplification of the Arabidopsis genome and PCR identification of recombinant plasmid of Escherichia coli by PCR.”

After receiving the notice of the competition, the School of Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering conducted extensive publicity and mobilization among the students, and immediately set up a team of professional competition instructors. During the preparation period, the students worked hard to overcome all kinds of difficulties. While completing the daily courses, they made full use of their spare time to train the basic operation in the laboratory. The two instructors used the weekend break to provide professional guidance to the students. With the joint efforts of the teachers and students team, the competition has made a historic breakthrough. After the competition, the teachers and students carefully summarized the experience of the competition.
