Recently, HXIT faculty members achieved 2 silver and 1 bronze medal awards in the 2023 Oriental Star Innovation Competition national finals. Among them, the teaching materials "Packaging Design," a first-class undergraduate social practice course in the field of visual communication, and product design for intelligent companion robots from the product design major, were awarded the silver prize. The innovative teaching design for "Network Editing Practice" based on the "OBE + dual integration and multi-assessment" approach in the field of network and new media, received the bronze prize.

"Packaging Design" comprehensively covers the conceptualization, process, structure, materials and techniques, cost estimation, and case studies. The textbook incorporates the latest packaging design regulations and knowledge on new materials, integrating brand culture and visual design concepts with packaging design. It is characterized by presenting information and graphics and includes related student works.

The design of intelligent companion robot products addresses the shortage of medical staff by utilizing medical devices to facilitate doctors and patients. Based on this, the design of the intelligent companion robot includes six major functions, significantly enhancing the efficiency and quality of medical services.

"Innovative Teaching Design for Network Editing Practice" covers the complete course content, focusing on teaching new media skills in strategy, acquisition, editing, and distribution. The teaching team emphasizes a curriculum-driven educational philosophy and innovative teaching and implementation based on "OBE + dual integration and multi-assessment," showcasing diverse interdisciplinary capabilities. The course utilizes various forms to expand extracurricular activities and enhance students' production abilities in new media products, achieving substantial results.
In the earlier Hubei Provincial Competition, HXIT faculty members actively participated and won 3 silver and 6 bronze medals awards. Some of the works were once again awarded in this national competition, fully demonstrating the outstanding innovative capabilities and professional qualities.
