"On the evening of October 16, 2023, the 2023 'On the Wings of Song' Welcome Gala was splendidly held at the athletics field. President Wu Yongqiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Li Haimin, and other school teachers, and the incoming 2023 freshmen, celebrated a beautiful evening together.
The event ignited with fervor as the opening act by the street dance society set the stage. Cool dance moves and energetic music showcased the youthful vitality of the students. As applause and cheers filled the air, six hosts dressed elegantly took the stage, officially commencing the gala.
The gala featured a series of impressive performances, including "Drum Tower" by the KongFu Band, the lively dance performance "Queencard" by (F)-IVEVER, the graceful "Memories of Jiangnan" by the Student Art Troupe, the humorous play "Please Pay Attention in Class" by the Student Art Troupe Drama Team, the English-language audio drama "Stepmother's Tea Party" by the School of Foreign Languages, and "Do You Want to Dance" by the Aspirin Band. These performances brimmed with energy and showcased remarkable talents and self-confidence, engaging the audience and elevating the gala atmosphere to its peak.
The gala also incorporated special segments that featured a video retrospective of the 14-day military training experience of the freshmen. The hosts read heartfelt messages from the drill instructors, creating a warm and intimate ambiance.
A particularly memorable segment was "Student Counselors Overcoming Obstacles," where students counselors donned golden attire and performed a playful, trendy dance routine that brought laughter from the audience. Assistants and senior mentors encouraged freshmen to study diligently and extended their well-wishes.
To provide an unforgettable experience for students and guests, the gala introduced surprise elements. This included two rounds of exciting lottery draws with attractive prizes, such as tickets to the Mulan Night City, semester passes to the gym, study cards for the Continuing Education College, and free driving lessons at the driving school, which encouraged active audience participation.
