During this summer vacation, the Foreign Languages School of HXIT organized more than 80 young students to participate in the special activity of "Returning to Hometown" social practice with the theme of "Promoting Chinese Spirit and Showing the Style of the Times". They provided remote companionship, academic assistance, and interest cultivation for more than 70 young people from all over the country.         

The target students of this " online teaching" activity were recruited through official and independent recruitment, covering primary and secondary school students from various cities across China. The "online teaching" activities mainly focused on "online reading together", "online sports together", "online classroom together", "online study tour together", and "long-distance letter exchange activities". Teachers and students made full use of multiple online platforms to build bridges for interactive communication with primary and secondary school students from various regions.

 In the HXIT distinctive courses of "online teaching", the team combined their own professional characteristics and developed interesting English picture book reading training courses for children, guiding them to speak English and cultivating their interest in English learning. In this activity, the team cooperated with the regional research-based practice teams to carry out special "cloud tours", creating a study tour of the red brick tea in Chibi for rural children during the vacation. College volunteers and primary and secondary school students shared changes in hometown revitalization, red culture, historical allusions, etc. through videos, texts, pictures, and other forms, receiving a series of positive feedback from students and parents.          

It is reported that HXIT has hosted the special activity of "online teaching together" for two consecutive years, with a total of more than 180 pairs of 9-15-year-old young students participating in the practice.
