On October 26th, HXIT hosted the 25th International Communication Salon. Li Yufeng, a graduate with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Design from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, shared valuable insights into the application process for master's and doctoral programs at world-renowned universities. The event saw the participation of Xiao Fenghua, the Director of the International Affairs Department, the Dean of the International Education School, as well as representatives from faculty, students, and the entire international student bodys.



Li Yufeng delved into his educational journey, focusing on the selection of schools, choosing programs, application preparation, and timelines for master's applications. He emphasized the crucial aspect of crafting a compelling personal statement. Regarding IELTS preparation, he shared experiences in the four domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Additionally, he introduced the academic and cultural aspects of studying abroad, highlighting the importance of independent learning during the study process. Lastly, he briefly touched on the doctoral application process, underscoring the significance of a well-crafted research proposal.

During the interactive Q&A session, the audience enthusiastically posed questions, and Li Yufeng provided on-the-spot answers, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere.

This salon comprehensively enlightened faculty and students on the processes and considerations involved in applying for master's and doctoral programs at globally esteemed institutions, contributing to the broadening of international perspectives.
