Recently, the 4th Hubei Province Higher Education Teaching Innovation Competition, guided by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, organized by the Hubei Provincial Higher Education Association, and hosted by Huazhong Agricultural University, successfully concluded. Professor Wang Jing from HXIT of Art Design and Media (team) won the second prize in the New Liberal Arts and Sciences Senior Group for the course "Product Development Design," marking a new breakthrough for HXIT.

The course "Product Development Design" is tailored to the requirements of the New Liberal Arts and Sciences construction, focusing on the school's positioning of cultivating applied talents and addressing the societal demand for design empowerment in Chinese innovation. The goal is to cultivate high-quality applied design talents who are deeply rooted in patriotism and empower product innovation. The team established a new path for design education called "Four-Dimensional Reconstruction and Visible-Invisible Coordination," upgrading from the traditional design practice-oriented education model to the New Liberal Arts and Sciences design practice-oriented education model. The teaching transformed fundamentally from closed classrooms to open classrooms and from knowledge-based classes to practical classes, enhancing students' creative thinking, design practical skills, professional ethics, and cognitive levels, solidifying their practical capabilities to empower Chinese innovation.

Minister Liang Mengfan of the Academic Affairs Department stated that HXIT will continue to use the Teaching Innovation Competition as an opportunity to guide teachers in innovating teaching content, methods, and evaluation, emphasizing substance.
The 4th Hubei Province Higher Education Teaching Innovation Competition, themed "Promoting Teaching Innovation, Cultivating First-Class Talents," had 70 universities and 307 entries in the preliminary round, covering New Liberal Arts and Sciences, New Engineering, New Agriculture, New Medicine, basic courses, and ideological education categories. After a "double-blind" online review and final approval by the organizing committee, 123 course entries were selected for on-site evaluation, with a 40% on-site selection rate.
