HXIT Held 2024 Graduation Design Exhibition and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival

On May 20, 2024, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary celebration of HXIT, the School of Art, Design and Media held a grand graduation design exhibition called "Qingheli · Chasing light" and the first "Seeking Beauty in China" intangible cultural heritage festival. This event brought together numerous guests, including school leaders, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, representatives of enterprises, and teachers and students. Li Haimin, Vice President, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing that HXIT attaches great importance to talent cultivation and encourages graduates to follow the trend and be brave in innovation. Li Jiao, Dean of the School of Art, Design and Media, reviewed the development process of the school and pointed out that it is committed to optimizing the education structure that is in line with the new development pattern. The creativity of students closely integrates art with rural revitalization and cultural inheritance.




During the event, the "Searching for Beauty in China" Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival opened simultaneously. Chairman Zhang Xiaodong and Dean of Art, Design, and Media School Lu You jointly unveiled the "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center". President Wu Yongqiao presented a guest professor appointment letter to the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, hoping that experts can inject new vitality into the research of intangible cultural heritage and contribute to the cultivation of talents in the new era.



The visual communication design department focuses on brand image and graphic vision, creating brand designs to assist in rural revitalization and traditional cultural revival. The advertising department focuses on regional characteristics, injecting new vitality into intangible cultural heritage techniques and agricultural products. The Environmental Design Department emphasizes the combination of landscape and function to create ecological leisure spaces. The network and new media system showcase the vitality of traditional craftsmanship in the form of documentaries. The product design department focuses on practicality and creativity, enhancing public interest in cultural products. The Digital Media Art Department utilizes interactive devices and virtual reality technology to bring audiences a brand new audio-visual experience, showcasing the perfect integration of technology and art.




At 11:00 a.m., the Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival of "Seeking Beauty in China" opened grandly, showing the rich and colorful intangible cultural heritage skills such as floating lacquer fan, Han embroidery, Paper Cuttings, calligraphy, awn weaving, and wrapping flowers and paper. Intangible cultural heritage inheritors and volunteers present on-site performances to attract teachers and students to experience check-in and deeply appreciate the charm of traditional culture. Among them, Shen Songbai's Paper Cuttings skill and Wang Yan's Han embroidery show are particularly eye-catching, showing the exquisite skills and profound heritage of traditional art.
