Recently, three graduates from HXIT—Zhang Huaijin, Wei Jiayu, and Hu Xiaoyi—have been honored as outstanding volunteers in the 2023–2024 National College Student Volunteer Service Western Plan.

Zhang Huaijin, a 2022 graduate from the School of Art Design and Media, serves in Kunyu City, the 14th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. He has successfully completed the digitization of historical archives for his unit, processed thousands of tasks for local residents with a perfect record of zero complaints, and actively participated in isolation point duties during the pandemic, demonstrating the responsibility and dedication of young people.

Wei Jiayu, a 2022 graduate from the School of Foreign Languages, serves in the People's Government of Qiaotou Town, Huaiji County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. He has played a key role in improving documentation for rural revitalization, contributing to Qiaotou Town's second-place award in the Rural Revitalization Arena. After being transferred to the Comprehensive Governance Office, he has actively fulfilled multiple tasks, including mediation of disputes, maintenance of social stability, and anti-fraud publicity. His efforts have earned him the title of "Outstanding Communist Youth League Member of Zhaoqing City" and consecutive recognitions as an outstanding volunteer by the National Project Office for two years.

Hu Xiaoyi, a 2023 graduate from the School of Art Design and Media, serves in the Education Bureau of Shuanghe City, the 5th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. She is responsible for document circulation, proofreading, and meeting services. She has also actively participated in activities organized by the Youth League Committee and witnessed the dedication of young teachers in the field of education.

HXIT's Communist Youth League Committee has actively mobilized students to participate in the Western Plan and has cultivated a group of young backbone members committed to serving grassroots communities in the western regions. School leader, Pan Jing, the secretary of Youth League Committee stated that Zhang Huaijin, Wei Jiayu, and Hu Xiaoyi have written extraordinary chapters of their youth through their actions. Their stories are expected to inspire more young people to engage in social development and contribute to the realization of the Chinese Dream.
