On May 29, coinciding with the 21st anniversary of HXIT, the signing and inauguration ceremony for Hubei Province's first "Huawei Modern Industry School" – the "Huawei-Huaxia Artificial Intelligence Modern Industry School" – was held at the institute's Information Engineering Building. This milestone marks the HXIT's advancement in deepening industry-education integration.

Presided over by Xia Ting, Executive Dean of the School of Information Engineering, the ceremony featured addresses by Vice President Hu Shuibing on behalf of the institute. He emphasized: "As an application-oriented institute, the establishment of the school is a critical milestone in keeping pace with technological evolution, cultivating high-quality applied talents, and serving regional economic development."

Wang Penghui, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Hubei's Government & Enterprise Business Department, stated: "Wuhan Huaxia Institute of Technology consistently upholds the ethos of 'dedicated learning and resolute practice.' Huawei will implement the 'technology as foundation, industry as context, talent as core' educational philosophy through industry-academia collaboration, integrating industrial demands with the education system to build an industry-academia-research-application ecosystem for information and communications technology innovation talent development."

During the ceremony, Vice President Li Cai signed the cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies. Chairman Zhang Xiaodong, President Wu Yongqiao, Party Secretary Ding Dezhi, and Huawei representatives including Wang Penghui jointly unveiled the plaque of the industry school.


The school's Phase I investment more than 15 million yuan,funding a Data Computing Center and specialized training centers for:Ascend, HarmonyOS, Kunpeng. Leveraging the school's strengths in STEM disciplines and Huawei's cutting-edge AI technologies, the school will optimize academic programs and faculty development according to industry needs. It aims to establish a "Four-Chain Integration" system (education chain, talent chain, industry chain, innovation chain) to enhance both academic excellence and industrial service capabilities.
