On October 17, HXIT launched the first session of the "Knowing Chu · Cultivating Beauty" general aesthetic education series at the multipurpose hall of Wutong Lake Campus,organized by the School of General Education and the Youth League Committee, and co-organized by the HuaXia Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center. Chen Changxi, a nationally acclaimed Chu Opera artist and national first-class performer from Hubei Opera Theatre, was appointed as a guest professor and delivered a lecture titled "The Charm of Traditional Opera: Chu Opera". Vice President Ding Chengzhong presented the letter of appointment.

Vice President Ding emphasized the HXIT’s commitment to educating students through aesthetics and culture, integrating intangible cultural heritage into the classroom. Professor Chen introduced the history and artistic features of Chu Opera and performed selected excerpts, with young performer Zou Yuhan also demonstrating traditional movements. Students actively participated by trying on costumes and learning basic gestures, gaining a deeper appreciation of traditional art.


The series will continue to invite intangible cultural heritage masters to campus to build a signature "Intangible Cultural Heritage + Aesthetic Education" brand, so as to promote the integrated development of campus cultural construction and aesthetic education.
