From November 28 to 30, the 37th Hubei Intercollegiate Wushu Routine Championship was held at HXIT, gathering over 200 athletes from 56 universities across the province. Led by Wu Fei, Vice Dean of the School of Physical Education, and coached by teachers, HXIT’s Wushu team—composed of four specialized Wushu students—delivered a standout performance with solid skills, claiming 1 championship and 6 top-8 finishes.

In the competitive sports major group, the athletes excelled: Xu Jiaqi won the championship in optional swordsmanship and ranked 7th in Changquan; Yu Junmin took 5th place in traditional boxing and 7th in swordsmanship; Zhu Jiayi finished 5th in Tai Chi and 8th in swordsmanship; Yu Qianying secured 6th place in Changquan. Their outstanding performance earned high recognition from the tournament organizing committee, with several members awarded "Excellent Athletes" and "Excellent Coaches" honors.

Liu Tao, Dean of the School of Physical Education, stated that the results fully reflect HXIT’s solid achievements in Wushu teaching and professional talent cultivation. Moving forward, HXIT will continue to deepen Wushu culture inheritance, strengthen professional development, enhance education quality, and build a broader platform for students’ comprehensive growth.
