On January 18, the "Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technician (Primary Level) Training Program," jointly organized by HXIT and Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT), concluded successfully with all 29 participants completing the course. This initiative stands as a key milestone in HXIT and WHUT’s collaboration to foster AI talent and bolster the regional digital economy.
The program effectively leveraged complementary strengths of both sides: WHUT as a national training base and HXIT as a primary-level certification site accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, thus ensuring the professionalism and authority of the training and certification system. Launched on December 20, 2025, the 64-hour curriculum employed a blended "online theory + offline practice" model, covering core areas including AI integrated development, product operation and maintenance, and deep learning. Participants were primarily from enterprises including China Mobile Hubei Branch and China State Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.(CSCEC Third Bureau), and some universities.

The program is a concrete practice of the national Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Talent Cultivation to Boost the Digital Economy Development (2024–2026). At the opening ceremony, Zhang Gan, Vice Dean of WHUT's School of Continuing Education, noted that the program aims to enhance participants' engineering practice and transformation capabilities in AI integration through a model of "separating training from assessment and integrating learning with application".

Xia Ting, Dean of HXIT's School of Information Engineering, emphasized that as the assessment organizer, HXIT will fully ensure quality support services. She hoped that trainees would solidify their technical expertise, translate their learning outcomes into practical capabilities, successfully obtain the national certification, and develop into AI professionals.

The course was delivered by Associate Professor Wang Liangliang from WHUT, together with certified trainers Zhang Ziyang and Xie Jin from HXIT. Adopting case-guided and task-driven practical teaching approach, the program enabled participants systematically master mainstream tools and integration methodologies, and accumulate project experience in industrial scenarios.

Upon the completion of training, all participants have obtained the eligiblity to sit for the national unified examination organized by the China Electronics Standardization Institute of MIIT. The certification exam is scheduled to be held at HXIT’s examination center in March 2026. Those who pass the exam will be awarded the nationally recognized Primary-level Professional Certificate for Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technicians.

Dean Xia Ting added that this collaboration serves as a successful example of synergistic talent cultivation between the two schools and exemplifies how the Huawei–HXIT AI Modern Industry Academy meets the regional talent needs effectively. HXIT’s School of Information Engineering will continue to provide high-quality AI cultivating programs, contributing to building a sound AI talent ecosystem and supporting the high-quality development of the digital economy.
