On March 3, the launching ceremony of the "Learning from Lei Feng Volunteer Service Month" and the "College Students' Community Practice Program" in 2026, jointly hosted by the Youth League Committee of HXIT and the Youth League Working Committee of Zuoling Subdistrict and undertaken by the HXIT Youth Volunteers Association and Xingxin Community, was held in Xingxin Community. Relevant leaders from the Youth League Working Committee of Donghu High - tech Zone, the Party Working Committee of Zuoling Sub - district, Xingxin Community, as well as the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee of HXIT attended the ceremony. Over 60 people including representatives of newly - employed groups in the jurisdiction, community residents, and faculty and student volunteers, participated in the event.
At the launching ceremony, Pan Feng, Member of the relevant leader of the Subdistrict Office of Zuoling Subdistrict, delivered a speech. He stated that it is necessary to leverage the advantages of the school-community co-construction platform, improve service efficiency through practical education, gather forces from all sectors, and support primary-level governance.Chen Wei,a school leader of HXIT, pointed out that the school will uphold the philosophy of “being close to the people, open and shared”, give full play to its talent and professional strengths, provide high-quality resources for the community, and promote the upgrading of community services.Ni Yan, a leader of Xingxin Community, introduced the community’s achievements in youth work and services for new employment groups, and put forward a vision for the 2026 school-community co-construction projects.
During the plaque-awarding ceremony, Liu Jiaxiong, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Working Committee of East Lake High-tech Development Zone, awarded HXIT the plaque of “School-Community Co-construction Service Station”. Chen Wei awarded Xingxin Community the plaque of “College Students’ Social Practice Base”, marking a new stage in school-community co-construction.
Featured volunteer services were held at the event venue. Volunteers led children from the community to experience the intangible cultural heritage art of ink blowing painting and make creative lanterns, allowing the children to immerse themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese culture.Coinciding with the Lantern Festival, everyone gathered to make and taste tangyuan, putting the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress” into practice.
