On the morning of March 28, the Liangzihu Parent-Child Marathon was successfully held in Liangzihu District. HXIT mobilized a team of student volunteers to provide full-event support, ensuring the smooth running of the event through thoughtful service and showcasing the outstanding spirit of young students in the new era.

Centered on the theme of “Parent-Child Companionship, Enjoy Sports, Embrace Nature”, the event prioritized leisure interaction over intense competition. Leveraging Liangzihu’s high-quality ecological resources, it designed a child-friendly race course and arranged engaging parent-child games such as Egg Tray Pop and Chopstick Balloon Grab, drawing numerous families to participate. Through sports and interactive activities, parents and children strengthened their emotional bonds.

To guarantee professional and efficient event operations, HXIT conducted rigorous volunteer selection and specialized pre-event training. Students with outstanding overall qualities were selected to form the volunteer team. For key positions including course guidance, material distribution, order maintenance and game support, clear job responsibilities and service standards were established, laying a solid foundation for the smooth delivery of volunteer services.

On the day of the event, volunteers arrived at the venue early in the morning and quickly took up their assigned posts. At the starting line, they assisted participating families with check-in, material distribution and venue orientation; along the course, they were stationed at supply stations and guidance posts to provide timely assistance;in the game zone, they patiently explained the rules and guided children through challenges, cheering on young participants with warm companionship. Throughout the event, the volunteers remained dedicated and smiling, becoming a vibrant symbol of youth at the venue with their careful and thoughtful service.

Pan Jing, a school leader of HXIT, noted that this activity is a key practice of the HXIT’s experiential education initiative. It not only supported local cultural and tourism initiatives but also provided students with valuable opportunities to practice volunteerism. Looking ahead, HXIT will continue to build more social practice platforms, guiding students to grow through serving the community and fulfill their responsibilities as young people in the new era.
