The 2026 CSAE Baja SAE National Finals came to a successful conclusion in Tongxiang, Zhejiang, on August 30. The Huayao Dream Chaser Team from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, HXIT, claimed the national second prize with exceptional engineering design and stellar on-site performance. The team also marked a historic milestone in the static competition sessions, fully showcasing HXIT students’ outstanding innovative literacy and resilient competitive spirit.

The competition vehicle was independently developed by students from the Huaxia Automotive Studio. The team accomplished the entire development process, including schematic design, component machining, vehicle assembly and iterative testing. Throughout the preparation phase, members conducted structural simulation validation, high-precision component processing and systematic vehicle debugging. By hosting technical sharing sessions and regular group seminars, the team polished design details and steadily optimized the overall performance of the race car.

The final sprint stage posed severe challenges, ranging from unexpected logistics issues to intense tournament pressure. Mid-competition, team’s vehicle systems encountered sudden failure. Undeterred by the emergency, team members acted swiftly with clear division of labor. They worked through the night to diagnose faults and complete urgent repairs, overcoming technical hurdles with solid professional expertise and ensuring a smooth finish of the competition.

Xiang Shaoqing, the team’s instructor, remarked that the honor honors the team’s persistent efforts in scientific and innovative practice. It also vividly embodies the School’s educational philosophy of integrating learning with competitive practice. Moving forward, the School will further strengthen support for student innovation platforms, deepen practical teaching reform, and empower students to convert theoretical knowledge into practical problem-solving capabilities for complex engineering scenarios.
