From September 12 to 13, the Wutonghu Campus of HXIT welcomed more than 3,300 freshmen of the Class of 2026. Each school integrated its academic features into the freshmen registration, turning it into a vivid "first specialized lessons”

The School of Intelligent Manufacturing fitted a cargo bucket onto its Baja off-road racing car to shuttle back and forth and carry luggage for new freshmen. Formula racing cars and wheeled robots were also on display. Faculty and students made 3D-printed school motto plaques and small ornaments as welcome gifts, allowing freshmen to get hands-on with professional equipment right upon arrival. The School of Information Engineering set robots dancing to music, with various robots exhibited, drawing crowds to stop and take photos.

The School of Art, Design and Media built an outdoor photo studio. It took family photos for freshman families, framed and presented these first HXIT family portraits on the spot. Each freshman also received a small green plant, symbolizing the budding of growth. Schools including Foreign Languages, Biopharmacy and Civil Engineering made creative name walls for freshmen to easily spot their names. Custom pens, canvas bags and other distinctive gifts prepared by each school brought a strong sense of ceremony to enrollment.

At the cafeteria entrance, the AI image generation check-in activity was held. Freshmen could shoot photos at self-chosen campus spots, try AI image creation and experience the charm of the combination of technology and art.

Shi Renjie, a freshman majoring in Vehicle Engineering, tried the luggage delivery service by race car. He thought this cool yet thoughtful welcome reception made him full of expectations for future life.
