At the recently concluded "Union Cup: College English Teaching Design Innovation Competition" hosted by the International TESOL Union (ITU,founded in 2012, registered in the UK in 2019), Liu Lili, Deputy Director of the College English Department at the HXIT's School of Foreign Languages , won the first prize with her innovative teaching design. This achievement marks HXIT’s first highest honor in this international teaching competition, underscoring global recognition of its English teaching standards.

Liu Lili’s award-winning work seamlessly blends 'cultural immersion' with 'language proficiency advancement.In her teaching, she adheres to the core idea of "making language the wings of education," using vivid materials such as Shakespearean literature and BBC documentaries, and adopting interactive methods like group debates and situational simulations to inspire students’ initiative. Students from HXIT noted that her classes are “a journey through language and culture, where skills grow naturally in an engaging environment”.
With 18 years of dedicated service in English language teaching, Liu Lili has been dedicated to reforming and innovating college English teaching. She has won over ten national and provincial teaching awards, including the first prize in the National Finals of the "Star of Teaching" organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The college English teaching team she leads has innovated teaching models, helping HXIT achieve a record-high passing rate in the College English Test Band 4.
"Winning this award in a high-level international competition affirms my personal teaching efforts and, more importantly, encourages the teaching team," Liu Lili stated upon receiving the award.
Dean of the School of Foreign Languages Liu Pei noted that Liu Lili’s achievement reflects HXIT’s efforts in strengthening faculty development and advancing teaching reforms.
