Recently, the results of the 2025 "Higher Education Press Cup" Hubei Provincial College Students' Excellent Short Video Competition themed "Telling Chinese Stories in English" have been recently announced. A student-produced video titled Follow Happy to Explore Wuhan’s Characteristic Architecture was awarded Second Prize in the Provincial Undergraduate Category. This marks the second time HXIT has earned an award since its debut in the competition in 2024, serving as a compelling testament to the remarkable progress in cultivating students’ cross-cultural communication skills.
The award-winning work was developed under the guidance of Ms. Jiang Qian from the School of Foreign Languages, with a creative team composed of Fei Qin, Mao Ying, Zheng Yihan, Xing Zixuan, and Ma Haoran—all students from Business English Class 1241. The team stood out for their strong command of English, creative storytelling, and dynamic presentation. Aligning closely with the competition’s theme of "New Era · New Changes – The Tide of the Times Surges, and Youth Shines Brightly," the video employs diverse narrative techniques and audio-visual elements to articulate contemporary young people’s perceptions of China’s development. It conveys a positive and uplifting youthful spirit while fully exemplifying the ability and sense of responsibility of HXIT’s students to tell Chinese stories in foreign languages.
Zhang Qian commented that this award not only recognizes the dedicated efforts of the participating team and the supervising teacher but also represents another significant breakthrough in this prestigious event. Moving forward, HXIT will continue to organize student participation in high-caliber competitions, provide more platforms for practical learning and presentation, and encourage young students to continuously enhance their comprehensive literacy. The goal is to enable them to master the language and methods that resonate with a global audience, thereby effectively telling Chinese stories and spreading Chinese voices worldwide.

The "Higher Education Press Cup" College Students' Excellent Short Video Collection Campaign, centered on "Telling Chinese Stories in Foreign Languages," is guided by the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and co-hosted by Nanjing University and Higher Education Press. It encourages college students to create works across three key dimensions: "Reflecting on the Past," "Examining the Present," and "Envisioning the Future." The core objective of this initiative is to enhance college students’ capacity to articulate Chinese discourse and present Chinese narratives through foreign languages.
