The team stormed to national runner-up in the EV and the top spot among undergraduate entries in the three-hour endurance race, sealing an overall National Second Prize—its best finish ever.

The competition featured fuel, electric and hydrogen categories, split into static (tech inspection, design, cost & business presentation) and dynamic (maneuverability, acceleration, sprint, endurance) events. Only cars that cleared rigorous safety and performance inspections were allowed on track.

Guided by faculty mentors, the students designed and built the new E25 in their spare time and holidays, completing frame welding, tri-electric system integration and iterative tuning. CAE-driven lightweighting delivered higher performance without sacrificing strength.

Overnight the crew debugged the powertrain, waterproofed the car and sailed through tech inspection. When a drivetrain glitch surfaced in the first dynamic heat, they pinpointed and swapped the faulty part quickly, then re-calibrated race strategy on the fly. In the gruelling endurance final the drivers kept lap times consistent while the pit crew tracked energy use in real time, turning reliability and teamwork into a historic win.

Jin Lumin, Deputy Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, hailed the result as proof of the school’s practice-first philosophy and a springboard for deeper collaboration with industry and peer universities.

This year’s BSC attracted over 100 universities and 3,000 students and faculty, making it the largest and most competitive edition to date.
