On the afternoon of November 29th, School of Internatinal Education organized students enrolled in the course Glimpses of World Civilizations for a study visit to the Hubei Provincial Museum. The activity aimed to boost students' understanding of the diversity of world civilizations while deepening their appreciation of the unique charm and profound heritage of Chinese civilization through practical learning to cultivate international talents with both patriotism and a global perspective.

Guided by a professional docent, the students visited the Zenghouyi Exhibition Hall, the Special Exhibition Hall of the Sword of Goujian, and the Chu State 800-Year Exhibition Hall. Precious artifacts such as chime bells, bronze ware, and the Sword of Goujian vividly showcased ancient Chinese ritual and musical civilization, metalworking skills and the distinctive characteristics of Chu culture, prompting students to spark deep reflections on history and cultural heritage.

This tour is a key initiative by the school to extend general education beyond the classroom into practical settings. It emphasizes that truly international talents must be rooted in their own culture and possess strong cultural confidence. Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive: many noted that engaging with historical artifacts gave them a vivid,hands-on understanding of Chinese civilization.

This trip to Hubei Provincial Museum was more than just an opportunity to expand knowledge and broaden horizons—it also served as a vivid example of the School of International Education’s dedicated efforts to advance general education.Looking ahead, the School will continue to promote an educational model that integrates theory with practice, guiding students to expand their global horizons based on a solid understanding of traditional culture, and fostering outstanding talents with rich cultural literacy and global competitiveness.
