Held at Wuchang Institute of Technology from April 17 to 19, the 2026 "Leju Cup" Hubei Provincial College Students' Mechanical Innovation Design Competition concluded successfully. Students from HXIT achieved remarkable results, winning 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 3 third prizes at the provincial level. Among them, the bionic butterfly program Fly to the Future qualified for the on-site final of the national competition, and the Yujietiao Automated Fish Processing Device was awarded the third prize in the national final.

Centered on the theme of Dexterity · Intelligence, Better Life , this prestigious provincial contest comprised three competition tracks, drawing participation from 430 teams representing 58 universities throughout Hubei Province. HXIT entered 12 teams across all contest categories. Such remarkable achievements originate from the HXIT’s well-established systematic competition training system. Before the competition, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing built a complete training mechanism covering selection, training, polishing and final preparation, with instructors offering whole-process guidance. During preparation, participating students overcame difficulties such as tight deadlines and intensive tasks. They spent their spare time repeatedly optimizing design schemes, and finished the whole process ranging from market research, 3D modeling to physical processing and prototype debugging.

The National College Students' Mechanical Innovation Design Competition is a national disciplinary competition funded and supported by the Ministry of Education. Held every two years, it ranks among China’s most influential and widely-participated events for mechanical engineering higher education.
