On May 9, the nation-level model site for industry-education integration jointly built with Huawei — the School of Modern Artificial Intelligence Industry at HXIT, officially launched as the first of its kind in Hubei Province. This milestone elevates the HXIT’s collaboration with Huawei from project-based cooperation to a systematic, standardized and nationally demonstrative new stage. It delivers a replicable, promotable and implementable HXIT’ s Model for application-oriented universities nationwide to deepen industry-education integration and foster digital and intelligent talents. A concurrent seminar themed on high-quality ICT talent cultivation in the digital era showcased practical achievements and explored future talent training pathways, offering a clear roadmap for bridging gaps between higher education and industrial demands.

Driven by rapid iteration of digital and intelligent technologies, application-oriented universities are confronted with three major dilemmas in ICT talent cultivation: disconnection from industrial technologies, insufficient practical training, and inconsistent competency standards. Curricula lag behind industrial technological advancement, training scenarios deviate from real industrial environments, and talent evaluation criteria are decoupled from professional certifications, resulting in low employability and job adaptability among graduates. Experts reached a consensus that in-depth collaboration and integrated development between universities and enterprises hold the key to resolving bottlenecks in talent cultivation.

Since establishing Hubei’s first School of Modern Artificial Intelligence Industry with Huawei in 2025, HXIT has been awarded the First Prize of Hubei Provincial Teaching Achievement Award for its innovative talent training model. With an investment of over ten million yuan, the model site has constructed four major training centers and specialized laboratories centering on Kunpeng, Ascend and HarmonyOS, creating industry-aligned practical training environments. Taking the "Four-Four-Three" training model as the core, HXIT has constructed a "Three-Integration" curriculum system, established a mixed university-enterprise faculty team, and fully integrated corporate projects and Huawei certifications into teaching, forming a closed-loop full-chain talent cultivation model of "Learning - Practical Training - Certification - Employment".

Currently, HXIT offers six core information-related majors with an annual enrollment of over 500 students, steadily supplying high-caliber professionals to Huawei’s industrial ecosystem. Moving forward, the model site will continue to play a leading and exemplary role, underpinning the high-quality development of regional digital economy and setting a benchmark for innovative industry-education integration among application-oriented universities across the country.
